CTAP Region 9 provides CTAP Online training through each of its local county offices. The training is designed to take place in a hands-on lab setting, with participants who have already established their accounts. The two kinds of training generally offered are:
- CTAP Online overview (1 to 4 hours): Provides a basic overview of courses and tools, primarily for new users and/or new account managers ("admins").
- CTAP Online Mentor Training: A formal, two-day curriculum designed by the Butte County Office of Education (the developers of CTAP Online). Participants must successfully complete this program in order to become an authorized trainer-of-trainers for their site or district, as well as to become a certified portfolio reviewer (i.e., authorized to approve course portfolios for colleagues who wish to apply for college credit and/or certificates of completion). A more detailed description of the training appears below:
- Day 1 - Level A:
Level A provides a hands-on overview of CTAP Online. Participants will become familiar with CTAP Online's many features and resources, including the online courses and communication/collaboration tools.
- Day 2 - Level B:
Level B is for those who have completed Level A training and would like a review of CTAP Online features, hands-on practice with CTAP Online tools and resources, training in the role and responsibilities of portfolio reviewers, and implementation strategies for your school or district. Participants who successfully complete both Level A and Level B training will be qualified as official CTAP Online Mentors (trainer-of-trainers, portfolio reviewer).
