County offices of education, school districts, and direct-funded charter schools are encouraged to develop a technology plan outlining technology support in 7 areas.
These 7 areas include:
1. Curriculum
2. Professional Development
3. Infrastructure, Hardware, Technical Support, and Software
4. Funding and Budget
5. Monitoring and Evaluation
6. Effective Collaborative Strategies with Adult Literacy Providers to Maximize the Use of Technology
7. Effective, Researched-Based Methods and Strategies.
An approved technology plan is required to receive educational technology funds. E-rate requires approved technology plans as a prerequisite for receiving Internet access or internal connections discounts.
