Distance Learning
Videoconferencing Interactive videoconferencing technology has become an increasingly important tool in education. To better meet the needs of educators in the counties served by CTAP Region 9, this new technology has been deployed to link classrooms, connect students and teachers to experts and scientists, and supplement standards aligned lessons with rich resources.
Videoconferencing technology allows two or more people at different locations to see and hear each other at the same time. In addition, it is often possible to share computer applications such as Internet pages, library catalogs, documents, or software. As an interactive communication medium, videoconferencing stands out in a number of ways. The visual connection and interaction among participants enhances understanding and helps participants feel connected to each other.
